Ben van der Burg

Ben van der Burg, born on April 20, 1968 in Schipluiden, is a Dutch former long track skater. He was active in long track speed skating from 1986 to 1991 and trained together with Bart Veldkamp.

 

Van der Burg achieved a special highlight in his sports career when he finished second at the World Allround Championships in Innsbruck in 1990, behind Johann Olav Koss and ahead of his training partner Bart Veldkamp. He also won the IJsselcup on November 17, 1990. After his sports career, he studied Dutch Language and Literature and started making television programs, publishing literary skating books, writing columns and providing skating commentary for Eurosport.

 

Since 2010, Ben van der Burg has been regularly heard on BNR Nieuwsradio, where he presents the talk and news show PepTalk. Together with Bart Veldkamp, ​​he has been providing the weekly podcast IJzige Tongen since the 2021/2022 skating season, in which they discuss memorable skating competitions and current developments. He also has a technology podcast called The Technologist.

 

In addition to his involvement in sports and the media, Ben van der Burg is also active in the digital world. He is chief commercial director at Triple IT, a company that develops mobile applications, virtual reality software and artificial intelligence solutions.

 

As an expert, Ben is frequently asked to speak at various meetings about technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and talent development. He shares his broad knowledge on topics such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, mobile applications, digital innovations, new business models and online marketing.
